Sophie looked horrified. \u201cIan told me you were separated!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOut of the picture? I\u2019ve been at my parents\u2019 for three weeks, taking care of my sick mother!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cJulia, please,\u201d Ian begged.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo,\u201d I said, my voice hard. \u201cNo more lies.\u201d<\/p>\n

I stormed out, my mind racing. Emma and Max were still with Jason. I needed air.<\/p>\n
