Over the next few weeks, his controlling behavior escalated. He made comments about Lily\u2019s use of the living room, her clothes, and even restricted her access to electronics.<\/p>\n
Then he suggested she should \u201cearn the right\u201d to sleep in her own bed. That was the final straw.<\/p>\n
That night, I packed our bags and told Lily we were going to stay with Grandma and Grandpa for a while.<\/p>\n
As we drove away, I felt both sad and relieved. I wanted my marriage to work, but I realized it wasn\u2019t worth sacrificing my daughter\u2019s well-being.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s been six months since that night. Lily and I are back on our own, and we\u2019re doing great. She\u2019s thriving in school, and I\u2019ve focused on our little family of two.<\/p>\n
