\nHowever, while dating services make it easier to match with people we\u2019ve never met in person, they also disguise the risks of encountering suspicious people who present themselves in a completely different light than they are.<\/p>\n
There have been instances where people who began communicating and bonding through a dating app are completely taken aback when they finally meet in person.<\/p>\n

A woman named Jocelyn shared her experience with someone she met on the dating site Bumble.
\nAccording to Bumble\u2019s description, \u201cwomen always make the first move,\u201d so when she was matched with a man named Myles whom she found attractive, she decided to message him through the app.<\/p>\n
After some time, Jocelyn agreed to give Myles her phone number so that he could text her and arrange the two to meet up for dinner.<\/p>\n
However, after receiving some text messages from him, she realized something was wrong, and it had nothing to do with what he wrote. She observed that Myles\u2019 texts were green, which is what happens when someone texts an iPhone user from an Android smartphone. If he texted from his iPhone, the message bubbles would be blue.<\/p>\n

This wouldn\u2019t seem weird if she hadn\u2019t seen Myles was sporting an Apple Watch in the photographs he posted on the dating service.
\nAccording to Apple, \u201cyou need an iPhone 6s or later\u201d to use an Apple watch, and because Myles owned the watch but wasn\u2019t wearing it, Jocelyn concluded the photographs he shared were of someone else, not Myles.<\/p>\n
