After more than 50 years of touring, Elton John has officially finished touring.<\/p>\n
The renowned artist performed his final concert on Saturday at the Tele2 Arena in Stockholm, the final stop on his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour.<\/p>\n

After the show, the five-time Grammy winner thanked his fans for their tireless support over more than five decades.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy fans have always been there for me. They have been there every step of the way, they have supported me, they have been patient and they have come to every single event,\u201d he said in a statement after the show, according to Consequence.<\/p>\n
\u201cTonight was a beautiful night. I am still processing everything and I think it will be a while before I am finally done touring. I can\u2019t tell you how much I will miss the fans or how humbled I am by their love \u2013 it will live on in my heart forever.\u201d<\/p>\n

During the event, the \u201cTiny Dancer\u201d singer received a special message from Chris Martin, who was performing in Sweden with his band Coldplay at the same time.<\/p>\n
\u201cElton, we just want to say, from all of us here, from all the bands and artists you have loved, inspired and supported, we love you so much,\u201d Martin, 46, said in part. \u201cWe love you enormously. Happy retirement and we\u2019ll miss you terribly mate.\u201d<\/p>\n
John, who has been touring since 1970, took to Instagram on Saturday morning to share a moving message ahead of the highly anticipated event.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat a journey this tour has been and now we\u2019ve come to the end of it,\u201d he wrote. \u201cTonight is the last night.\u201d<\/p>\n

While John is no longer touring, he and his management have previously said fans will be able to see him in some form in the years to come.<\/p>\n
