My heart sunk as my spouse presented me with a bunch of tulips.<\/p>\n
With a forced smile, I answered, \u201cThank you, they\u2019re lovely.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nMick* gave her flowers every Friday, 52 weeks a year, without fail.<\/p>\n
You might think it would have made her unique, but it really made her feel uneasy the remainder of the week.<\/p>\n
The slightest things would make him jealous. She was incredibly unhappy and under control.<\/p>\n
Things worsened with the birth of both of their boys.<\/p>\n
He covered the front and back doors with sticky tape because he was so sure she was cheating, and he checked to make sure it wasn\u2019t damaged every morning.<\/p>\n
Calling her a bad mother was the single thing that caused the most pain.<\/p>\n
She believed that the lads deserved better.<\/p>\n
However, Mick, the husband, was in charge of the money, so she had nowhere to go and her pockets were empty.<\/p>\n
She was sitting on the sofa with the boys one day when Mick started insulting her. In order to give the boys a remembrance of mom, he abruptly seized the camera, took a picture of them, and informed her that it was her final night on earth.<\/p>\n
He tried to seize her as he was taking the photo, but he was stopped by her terrified screams.<\/p>\n
She left with the boys the following morning when he left for work.<\/p>\n
She looked for a property to rent while her head was in disarray. This was their last choice because no shelter would accept them in because Tim had severe autism.<\/p>\n
\nShe took money out of their account to cover a week\u2019s rent and the bail.<\/p>\n
They hurriedly loaded stuff, got into the removal van, and drove out.<\/p>\n
With no money and no employment, how in the world is she going to raise two boys? However, a burden was relieved as soon as she entered the new home.<\/p>\n
After a while, Mick stopped hurting her, but what transpired in that home was horrifying to see, especially for the little boys.<\/p>\n
She always made sure they didn\u2019t become upset like their father and showed them how much she loved them.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe most important thing you can be is kind,\u201d she would add.<\/p>\n
The fact that both of them became wonderful, content gentlemen makes her very proud. Tim, 32, is a prolific artist, and Sam, 30, is a swim coach who tried out for the Olympics.<\/p>\n
With a profession she likes and a house with a garden, she leads a beautiful existence.<\/p>\n

\nIn order to show those who have been abused that they are not alone, she wanted to tell her tale.<\/p>\n
She shares a narrative on Facebook every year on the anniversary of their escape. Helping other survivors makes the boys very proud.<\/p>\n
She wanted to share the eerie picture Mick took with everyone after discovering it a few years back.<\/p>\n
Although it was difficult to watch their expressions, she wants women to understand that domestic abuse is never acceptable. No child should have to grow up in such a terrible setting.<\/p>\n
Her intention is to inform people that there is hope for the future.<\/p>\n
