\nI tried calling her repeatedly, but she never answered. In the weeks that followed, I cried every day, worried and confused, until suddenly, I finally received a video call.<\/p>\n
When I saw her name flash on the screen, my heart leapt. With shaky hands, I answered the call, and there she was\u2014my daughter, looking tired and worn but somehow at peace.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve been struggling with a lot, and I knew I couldn\u2019t be a good mother to him\u2014not in the state I was in. I thought if I could get away, maybe\u2026 maybe I could get myself together.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWhere are you now?\u201d I asked, still trying to process her words, wondering if she\u2019d truly thought about the impact of her actions.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m in a place that\u2019s helping me. I\u2019m getting counseling and support,\u201d she said, her voice steadier now. \u201cThey\u2019ve helped me see things more clearly. I know it was wrong to just leave like that, and I\u2019m sorry. But I want to get better so that I can be there for him, for both of you.\u201d<\/p>\n
As much as I was angry and hurt, I could see the desperation in her eyes, the raw pain she\u2019d been hiding. After a long pause, I sighed, gathering my thoughts. \u201cI understand,\u201d I said quietly. \u201cI don\u2019t agree with how you handled this, but I\u2019m glad you\u2019re seeking help.\u201d<\/p>\n
We talked for a while longer, and she shared her plans to continue her treatment and come back once she was strong enough to be the mother her son needed. It would take time, but she assured me she was committed.<\/p>\n
