Phoebe Cates, known for her roles in iconic \u201980s films like \u201cFast Times at Ridgemont High\u201d and \u201cGremlins,\u201d transitioned from a successful acting career to a fulfilling life as a businesswoman in New York City.Born on July 16, 1963, in New York City, Cates was destined for the spotlight with entertainment in her blood\u2014her father, Joe Cates, was a prominent producer-director.<\/p>\n

Cates began her journey in the arts studying ballet at Juilliard but shifted to modeling after a knee injury which prevented her to perform. Although she found success gracing magazine covers, Cates realized acting was her true passion.<\/p>\n
