One morning, Jack woke up as usual to prepare breakfast. But when he entered the kitchen, he was stunned to find three plates of freshly made pancakes with jam and fruit already on the table.<\/p>\n

Later, after dropping the girls off at daycare, Jack returned home to find the lawn had been neatly mowed. \u201cThis is getting weird,\u201d he muttered to himself.<\/p>\n

The woman stopped and slowly turned around. \u201cWe\u2019ve met before, haven\u2019t we?\u201d Jack asked, confused.<\/p>\n
The woman nodded, but before she could speak, Emma and Lily called from upstairs. Jack quickly invited the woman to sit and promised to get the girls. They came downstairs, curious. Jack introduced them to the stranger.<\/p>\n
\u201cWho is she, Daddy?\u201d Lily asked.<\/p>\n
Jack smiled. \u201cLet\u2019s find out together.\u201d<\/p>\n
The woman sat at the table, her eyes unsure. \u201cI\u2019m Jack, and these are my daughters, Emma and Lily. You\u2019ve been helping us, and I want to know why.\u201d<\/p>\n
The woman hesitated before speaking. \u201cMy name is Claire. Two months ago, you helped me when I was in a bad place. I was lying by the road, dehydrated and desperate. You took me to a charity hospital. When I woke up, you were gone, but I managed to find out where you lived. I wanted to thank you.\u201d<\/p>\n
Jack\u2019s memory clicked. \u201cI remember. You were in terrible shape.\u201d<\/p>\n
Claire nodded. \u201cYour kindness saved me. I\u2019ve since gotten a job as a postal worker, and I wanted to repay you. I saw how tired you looked, so I decided to help with small things.\u201d<\/p>\n
Jack was touched. \u201cBut you can\u2019t just break into our home. It\u2019s not safe.\u201d<\/p>\n
Claire looked ashamed. \u201cI\u2019m sorry. I just wanted to help.\u201d<\/p>\n
Emma, who had been listening intently, reached out and touched Claire\u2019s hand. \u201cThank you for making pancakes. They were yummy.\u201d<\/p>\n
Claire smiled, tears in her eyes. \u201cYou\u2019re welcome, sweetheart.\u201d<\/p>\n
Jack took a deep breath. \u201cClaire, let\u2019s do this differently. How about you join us for breakfast now and then? We can get to know each other better.\u201d<\/p>\n
Claire\u2019s face lit up with a hopeful smile. \u201cI\u2019d like that, Jack. Thank you.\u201d<\/p>\n
They spent the rest of the morning talking and eating pancakes. Claire shared her story of hardship, and Jack realized how much strength she had. He also learned about her plans to reunite with her son.<\/p>\n
As they finished breakfast, Jack felt a new sense of hope. Claire\u2019s gratitude and their mutual support created a bond between them. The girls seemed to adore her, and Jack felt optimistic about the future.<\/p>\n
