After work, standing outside, Pamela hesitated. Chandler, her fianc\u00e9, would be expecting her. But Josh\u2019s easygoing charm had lifted her spirits.
\n\u201cPam!\u201d Josh called, stepping toward her.
\n\u201cUh\u2026 maybe I should head home,\u201d she said, glancing at her phone.

Josh looked down, disappointment clouding his expression, before he grabbed his coat and left without another word.<\/p>\n
Pamela watched him go, feeling something precious slip away. Chandler pulled her out into the cold night, demanding answers.
