\u201cWe really need it for national security. I think that is why NATO might have to get involved anyway,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Trump pointed out that the U.S. already maintains a military presence on the island, with Pituffik Space Base playing a key role in missile warning and space surveillance operations.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe don\u2019t want to be Americans. No, we don\u2019t want to be Danes. We want to be Greenlanders, and we want our own independence in the future,\u201d Nielsen told Sky News. \u201cAnd we want to build our own country by ourselves.\u201d<\/p>\n
