It was yet another day when I needed to make a choice between what my essentials were and cut on purchasing too many products. Times were tough, and although I only got a handful of things from the store, I was still short on money. Embarrassment was written all over my face, but then, the cashier slipped me cash.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve been there,\u201d she whispered.<\/p>\n
I thanked her and headed to the parking lot when I noticed there was a note along with the receipt \u2013 \u201cTake your child and leave. Now. Don\u2019t look back.\u201d<\/p>\n
Honestly, I got scared because I couldn\u2019t figure out what was going on. Was I in danger? My initial thought was to return to the store, but I decided to act upon that note and headed home instead.<\/p>\n
Curious about the message, I returned to the store the following day.<\/p>\n

I looked around, but the cashier was nowhere to bee seen. I asked around, and before long, the store\u2019s manager approached me.<\/p>\n
\u201cLooking for something particular?\u201d he asked, seeing me standing at the register for unusually long.<\/p>\n
\u201cYes,\u201d I said, \u201cI\u2019m in fact looking for a cashier. She was at work yesterday.\u201d<\/p>\n
I described how she looked and then I was told she didn\u2019t work there any longer. Apparently, the nice cashier was axed the day she slipped me cash.<\/p>\n
The manager, who was extremely rude, said she broke the store\u2019s policy by giving money to a customer.<\/p>\n
\u201cOh my God,\u201d I said to myself. \u201cDid she lose her job for stepping in for me and my child?\u201d<\/p>\n
I wanted to know more, her name, her address\u2026 but the manager refused to share such information with me.![\"\"](\"http:\/\/ezzuye.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/pexels-photo-1608113-1024x683-1.webp\")

In an attempt to track her down, I took to the social media, never assuming that my post would go viral in a matter of days.<\/p>\n
What\u2019s most, the local outlets picked up the story, and it wasn\u2019t long after the nice cashier who slipped me cash contacted me.
\nI apologized for getting her in trouble, but she said it was fine.<\/p>\n
She explained that she noticed a strange person walking right next to me the entire time I was at the store and that\u2019s why she wrote that note, fearing I could get myself in danger.<\/p>\n
As of her kindness and her losing her job? The local media had already picked up the story so the store\u2019s corporate got involved. They offered her her job back, but that lovely cashier had other plans. She said she found a job where kindness wasn\u2019t punished.<\/p>\n
