A plane carrying American immigrants, suspected members of a Venezuelan gang, touched down in El Salvador under Trump\u2019s command despite the judge\u2019s ruling.<\/p>\n
The order passed by Trump\u2019s administration required 238 supposed criminals \u2013 American immigrants \u2013 to be transferred to what is known as the \u201cworld\u2019s worst prison\u201d in El Salvador.
\nA federal judge ruled against the order, but at the time the plane carrying the alleged gang members was already in international airspace, thus Trump\u2019s administration claimed they didn\u2019t break any laws.<\/p>\n
Trump\u2019s order has been based on an 18th century law \u2013 which was intended for wartime and targeted Venezuelan gang members \u2013 with the government claiming the country is facing an \u201cinvasion\u201d of criminal organizations linked to kidnappings, killings, and other crimes.<\/p>\n
US is expected to pay the government of President Nayib Bukele $6 million for one year of services.<\/p>\n
The infamous prison where the members of the Tren de Aragua gang were deported \u2013 the Terrorism Confinement Center, or CECOT \u2013 was built in 2023 when president Bukele announced the war against organized crime.<\/p>\n
Bukele himself announced the arrival of the American immigrants transferred to El Salvador from America. He posted photos of them handcuffed, writing that the \u201cfirst 238 members of the Venezuelan criminal organisation\u201d had landed and that \u201cthe United States will pay a very low fee for them, but a high one for us.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cAs always, we continue advancing in the fight against organized crime. But this time, we are also helping our allies, making our prison system self-sustainable, and obtaining vital intelligence to make our country an even safer place. All in a single action,\u201d he wrote on X.<\/p>\n
\u201cMay God bless El Salvador, and may God bless the United States.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nPresident Trump also posted about the transfer, blaming Joe Biden and his administration for infiltrating the criminals to the United States.
\n\u201cThese are monsters sent into our Country by Crooked Joe Biden and the Radical Left Democrats. How dare they!\u201d Trump wrote on Truth Social.<\/p>\n
\u201cThank you to El Salvador, and in particular President Bukele, for your understanding of this horrible situation, which was allowed to happen to the United States because of Democrat leadership.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will not forget.\u201d<\/p>\n
And while many judge Trump for this action, the White House press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, released a statement in which she claimed a single federal judge from a single county, and his ruling, \u201ccannot direct the movements of an aircraft carrier full of foreign alien terrorists who were physically expelled from US soil.\u201d<\/p>\n
The statement added that federal courts \u201chave no jurisdiction\u201d over the president\u2019s foreign affairs.<\/p>\n

\nTrump said he believes the gang members are tied to the Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.<\/p>\n
According to AP, the conditions in the prison are inhumane, with inmates forced to fight over food and water. It doesn\u2019t offer any educational programmes that would help those serving to adapt to outside life ones released.<\/p>\n
Also, according to Venezuela\u2019s minister of justice, \u201cthose held at CECOT would never return to their communities.\u201d<\/p>\n
