Bobby sighed. \u201cPlease don\u2019t make this a big deal.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cOh, so I\u2019m making it a big deal? I just want to be clear: every groomsman gets a plus-one except for me? Even Chris, who\u2019s literally still swiping through Tinder as we speak?\u201d<\/p>\n
Bobby groaned. \u201cI didn\u2019t think you\u2019d react like this.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cHow did you expect me to react?\u201d<\/p>\n
He didn\u2019t answer.<\/p>\n
And that silence was the loudest thing I\u2019d ever heard.<\/p>\n
I hung up.<\/p>\n
I sat on my couch, gripping my phone, trying to process what just happened.<\/p>\n
Julia walked in, kicking off her shoes. \u201cHey, babe. What\u2019s up?\u201d<\/p>\n
I looked at her, the woman I loved, the woman I had built a life with. I had no idea.<\/p>\n
For the next few days, I replayed the conversation in my head. Bobby never reached out again. No apology. No reconsideration.<\/p>\n
Then the group chat lit up: Suit fittings this weekend! Can\u2019t wait!<\/p>\n
I stared at the message. The same guys who had watched me and Julia build a life together. The same guys who, apparently, didn\u2019t think this was a big deal.<\/p>\n
