I had a super important job interview and needed his help getting the kids ready for school. Instead, he told me, \u201cSweetie, my bath is my sacred escape from the kids and, let\u2019s be honest, from YOU! You can handle things for an hour, can\u2019t you?\u201d<\/p>\n

With that, he locked himself in the bathroom, humming away. I was left juggling breakfast, school supplies, and a toddler who wouldn\u2019t stop crying. By the time I got the kids to school and rushed to my interview, I was a hot mess\u2014and I missed the interview.<\/p>\n
I was furious. \u201cYou wanna play games, Adam? Let\u2019s play,\u201d I muttered, already hatching a plan.<\/p>\n
That night, I devised a little revenge. I knew his bath routine well\u2014candles, bath oils, and a relaxation playlist. The next morning, I replaced his bath oil with baby oil (which is a nightmare to wash off), swapped his playlist for the kids\u2019 favorite songs (on repeat), and turned down the hot water valve just enough to make it lukewarm.<\/p>\n
As he headed to the bathroom, I whispered, \u201cEnjoy your hour, honey.\u201d The sounds of his frustration and the kids\u2019 songs blaring were music to my ears.<\/p>\n
He emerged, dripping and grumpy. \u201cWhat the hell happened in there?\u201d he demanded.<\/p>\n
I simply replied, \u201cJust like you expect your relaxation time to be respected, I expect your support when I need it.\u201d<\/p>\n
But Adam didn\u2019t get it. I needed to escalate. So, I bought some bath bombs filled with glitter. When he dropped one in, it exploded in a cloud of sparkles. He emerged looking like a human disco ball, and the cleanup took him ages.<\/p>\n
Still, Adam didn\u2019t give up his bath ritual. I upped the ante with a cold water prank, rubber ducks, and a pirate battle soundtrack. He slipped on a toy boat and got soaked, but he still didn\u2019t change.<\/p>\n
Finally, I staged a fake emergency, yelling that the kids were locked in the garage. When Adam rushed out, I set up a motion sensor in the tub that triggered an air horn when he stepped in. His frustration was priceless.<\/p>\n
I confronted him, saying, \u201cWelcome to my world, Adam. It\u2019s about partnership. We\u2019re in this together.\u201d<\/p>\n
He sighed, defeated but understanding. From then on, he made a real effort to help with the kids and cut down his bath time. But I had one final prank up my sleeve\u2014neon pink hair dye. When he saw his reflection, he went ballistic.<\/p>\n
