Richard scoffed at the idea. Mr. Thompson produced a silver coin and announced, \u201cHeads, it goes to Ms. Rogers. Tails, to Mr. Gray.\u201d The room fell silent as the coin spun. It landed on heads\u2014my side.<\/p>\n
Richard exploded. \u201cThis is bull! I\u2019ve got debts! I was counting on this money!\u201d His desperation was palpable. Mr. Thompson remained firm, stating, \u201cThe will is clear. The estate goes to Ms. Rogers.\u201d<\/p>\n
Richard’s bravado melted away. He slumped in his chair, his face a mask of anger and fear. Dean looked at me with newfound humility.<\/p>\n
I stood, feeling a mix of disbelief and triumph. I thanked Mr. Thompson, and as I left, Richard and Dean avoided my gaze. They were no longer the arrogant duo from the plane but two people facing the consequences of their actions.<\/p>\n
