I was startled. Was this a trap? But the note seemed genuine. I rummaged through the bag and found a handkerchief, a crumpled tissue pack, and a slip of paper with an address.<\/p>\n
I couldn\u2019t find anyone fitting the description in the park, so I decided to follow the address. It led to a small, neat house a few blocks away. I knocked on the door, and an older woman with silver hair and a warm smile answered.<\/p>\n
\u201cHi,\u201d I said, holding up the bag. \u201cMy dog found this in the park. I think it might be yours.\u201d<\/p>\n
The woman\u2019s face brightened with recognition. \u201cOh, my! Yes, that\u2019s mine. I\u2019ve been looking for it for two days.\u201d<\/p>\n
I handed her the bag and showed her the note. She read it, tears welling up in her eyes. \u201cMy husband wrote that. He passed away last year, but he was always worried about me. I suppose he thought of everything, even after he was gone.\u201d<\/p>\n
I felt a pang of sadness and empathy. \u201cI\u2019m so sorry.\u201d<\/p>\n
