What Jane said had a grain of truth. Yes, my family business was struggling, and yes, I hoped that marrying Jane might help, but I never intended to use her for money. I loved her deeply, and that was why I wanted to marry her.<\/p>\n
\u201cListen, Jane,\u201d I said, trying to explain. \u201cI never meant for any of this to come out like this\u2014\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cExplain what?\u201d she cut me off. \u201cThat your mother pressured you to find a wealthy woman to save the family business? She told me everything. I can\u2019t believe I fell in love with someone like you.\u201d<\/p>\n
At that moment, I felt helpless. I wanted to explain, but the words wouldn\u2019t come. \u201cIt\u2019s over, Nathan,\u201d Jane declared, her voice resolute, and walked out of the church.<\/p>\n
I chased after her, desperate to make her understand. \u201cJane, wait! Please, just listen to me.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBut why hide your family\u2019s financial situation?\u201d Jane asked. \u201cWhat else are you hiding?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cYou\u2019re right,\u201d I admitted, tears streaming down my face. \u201cI should have been honest. My mother despises me. After I took a DNA test in college, I discovered my father wasn\u2019t my biological father. When I confronted her, my world fell apart. Dad left, taking all the money with him. Mom lied to ruin my happiness, including my wedding.\u201d<\/p>\n
Jane\u2019s expression softened with sympathy. \u201cYou didn\u2019t tell me because you were embarrassed. We were supposed to build a life together, but you kept so much from me. Can I ever trust you again?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m sorry, Jane,\u201d I said, my voice breaking. \u201cI know I made mistakes, but I love you.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m sorry too, Nathan,\u201d she replied, wiping her tears. \u201cThis is how we part ways. I can\u2019t live with someone who keeps secrets.\u201d<\/p>\n
And with that, Jane left. I watched her drive away, my heart shattered. I tried reaching out to her, but she never answered. I lost the love of my life due to lies, betrayal, and secrets I should have never kept.<\/p>\n
