Kate was a single mother, who were living for her daughter, Holly. When her daughter’s birthday arrived, Kate was ready as she saved enough money to celebrate it at a restaurant.
Kate took her daughter to the restaurant where she planned a birthday celebration. She was filling with joy as she watched her daughter jumping when she learned that they were going to a restaurant for her birthday.
At the restaurant, Kate told her daughter to order whatever she would like to. She wanted her daughter to feel special that day. Since her husband, Holly’s father Ben passed away, it was hard for Kate to maintain a good life for Holly.
She was working double, even triple shifts to earn enough money for a stable life for her daughter, Holly. For Kate, Holly was worth everything.
They would go to restaurant from time to time, but that evening was different. Instead of sharing the dessert, she was going to have a full cake on her own. Before she finished looking at the menu, waiters gathered around her and started to sing “Happy Birthday” to Holly.
Then the cake arrived. Holly started to eat her cake with joy, while Kate watched her daughter as her eyes got wet. She was happy for her daughter’s joy.
She forgot that they were struggling for a while, as she watched her daughter’s happiness. But that was cut short. A waiter approached Kate and wanted to talk in private.
He explained that the bill was going to be doubled as the prices of the menu changed since they have agreed on the night, and since Kate didn’t pay right up, she now needed to pay $600, instead of $300.She was shocked. She tried to explain that she saved only $300, but the waiter was listening to her with a stark face. He finished his words as he said that she has to pay the full price.She went back to table with a fake smile on her face to not upset her daughter, who was filled with joy. Holly was happy, as she had no idea what was happening.
When the time come for them to leave, Kate sent her daughter to outside, for she wanted to talk with the manager. She begged to the manager as she explained the situation. She revealed that she only had $300, and she pleaded for them to take it and close the tab.
Then the manager explained that there was no bill for the birthday expenses, as the man revealed that a woman wearing a white coat paid the price and left seconds ago. Kate cried as she couldn’t understand what was happening, but relieved. She then thanked to the manager and rushed outside to find the woman.
She saw a white figure turning the street. She ran before her and stopped the lady in white. She tried to talk with the woman, asked why she paid their meal. The woman revealed that she is a mother too, and had walked the same path Kate is treading now.
The woman explained that she is now financially strong, and her children are safe. Kate hugged to the lady as she cried with happiness.
