Richard was a single father for the most of his life. He was left alone with his son Michael after the passing of his wife, Emma. Michael was ten when Emma left this world.

Michael was a good kid. He had his teenager moments but he was hardworking, and kind. He went to college with a scholarship, and started to work immediately he was graduated.

After Michael moved out from his father’s house, he was still in touch with him as they would have lunch together whenever they could.

One day, Michael came to Richard’s house. He then excitedly gave the news of the cottage he bought for his father.

Richard was surprised as he had no idea his son would do something like that. He was happy with where he was living, and he thought that moving to a cottage would be too much for him.

Michael explained that cottage is in a peaceful location, as his son stated that Richard needs some serenity.

And he insisted that Richard was living alone in a big house, and that was too much for him. “It’s time for a change. Trust me.” Michael said.

Richard was living in that house for more than 30 years, and this was the home where he got married and started to live with Emma. The house belonged to his family.

To make his son happy, Richard agreed to move and sell his house. While he was packing, his son handled rest of the details. The helpful actions his son was in cleared his mind.

They started to drive towards the cottage. As time passed, the scenery became more desolate. Now they were in a place where there were no people, or any property.

Then he saw the sign, “Sunset Haven.”

It was a nursing home. Michael had lied to his father. He was able to live on his own, and his son tricked him into selling the house. Michael stated that it would be better for him, since he will be under care.

As time passed, the walls were suffocating Richard. He was in a healthy mind and body, he didn’t need for people to care him. Despite the kind and sweet crew of Sunset Haven, Richard was not happy.

Then he heard from the nurses that Michael, his son, was in debt because of his gambling, and that was why he sold his father’s home and took the money.

For his luck, he saw his lawyer friend Jack in Sunset Haven, who was shocked to see him in there, where his sister was being taken care of. They talked about the situation, and Jack offered help.

Then it turned out to be that the sale of his house was rushed and there were some legal holes needed to be filled. Jack immediately acted, and the sale was cancelled as Richard took back his home.

Now his son both needed to pay for his gambling debt, and the money buyer paid for the house.
