John tells Nicky he wants a divorce after 47 years, claiming he’s tired of their monotonous life and wants to live freely. Nicky is furious and refuses to sign the divorce papers, asserting she won’t let him off easily. John mocks her, saying he’s already booked a trip to Mexico and used their savings without her consent.
After John leaves, Nicky feels devastated but resolves not to let him get away with his betrayal. Three months later, John unexpectedly returns, begging for forgiveness after being deceived by a younger woman named Maddison in Mexico who robbed him.
As they talk, Nicky is interrupted by a knock at the door. It’s Maddison, who Nicky reveals is actually her friend’s daughter, and they have set up a trap for John. Nicky confronts John, telling him to leave and announcing her decision to divorce him without giving him anything.
John, flustered and defeated, takes his luggage and leaves. Nicky thanks Maddison for her help, and they share a moment of triumph over tea. Months later, Nicky and John are officially divorced, and their children side with Nicky after learning the full story.
