MAN TAUGHT A LESSON TO HIS WIFE, WHO INSULTED HIS MOTHER

After her husband passed away, Kate was living alone. But in holidays, things would change because her son would visit. This Christmas was different, since Dave was a married man now. He got married to Liz five months ago.

Kate wanted Liz to feel welcomed and fit into their traditions, as she would spend her holidays with her own family while they were engaged. Family vacation packages

As usual, she went to her kitchen after she woke up. She started to prepare a great breakfast for her guests.

Then Liz entered into the kitchen, where she was glued to her phone. When Kate greeted her, she just nodded.

Then she stated that maybe they should order food from outside, since she didn’t like what Kate had in mind for the Christmas dinner, without knowing what Kate was capable of with food.

She was a great cook in her family. It was a tradition in the family, where she would cook big dinners for each holiday.

Then she saw her son John, leaning against the wall, and silently watching them. She would like to hear her son defend her, but John didn’t utter a word. That hurt Kate.

Then dinner time arrived. Kate cooked the food as usual. The guests were at home, and waiting for the dinner and Kate’s great food.

After the dinner, everyone was happy. The faces were smiling. Then John broke the silence.

“The food was good, right?”

Then Kate’s brother Matt responded with a laughter, “Why wouldn’t it be? Kate’s been making the best Christmas meals for as long as I can remember. Why do you think Laura and I always spend it with her?”

Then Laura spoke, “I can’t cook to save my life,” she said. “That’s why James and I do the dessert and rely on your mom to feed us for Christmas.”

Then John revealed that Liz didn’t like when she saw what his mother was cooking. So, she ordered Chinese food for herself. The table went silent.

Liz’s face went pale and then red like her hairs.

After the dinner, while Kate was in the kitchen filling the dishwasher, Liz approached to her. She apologized.

“I didn’t mean to insult your cooking. It’s just…”

“John always talks about how amazing your food is. It’s all I ever hear about. How no one can cook like his mom. And I guess… I don’t know. I got jealous.”

Kate smiled and hugged to Liz. She told her daughter-in-law that she would be more than happy to teach her how to cook John would like.
