Jen was 50 when she joined a startup after losing her husband. She needed something to clear her mind, and that startup did the job.

She was an intern at that age, in an IT startup. Despite it was not her field, she decided to work on technology.

Her boss was Liam, who was 28 and a sharp young man. He was focused on the success of the startup, sadly he was not very interested with people.

She was talking to Jake, who helped her a lot after Jen lost her husband. She was talking with him after she left the office.

She complained about her boss. How he was brushing her ideas off, and wouldn’t listen to her since she was an old intern.

As a psychology degree holder, she would be useful as Jake stated. Then talked about how her thesis about bringing people together over emotional support program she wrote was working wonders.

The next day, Jen talked with Liam and he accepted her offer. Then she saw Lora, who was a terrible person. She was listening their conversation, and was ready to mock her. She was like a high school bully.

She offered help. As Jen hesitated, she decided to trust Lora and thanked.

Then Jen arrived at the location she was told by Lora. But there was no one in there. Then Liam called Jen and asked where she was, “Mary, where are you? Everyone’s here, waiting. You said you’d be running this thing, and now you’re not even here!”

Then Liam told her that they were waiting at the new place Lora stated that Jen picked. She was panicking. She then stated that she is on her way, and then called Jake.

“Lora changed the location for the team-building without telling me. I can make it work. But it has to be my territory, not Lora’s one. I need you to bring everybody to my house.”

He made the arrangements then immediately. Jen’s terrace was ready for the event. Then Jane welcomed everyone into her home. The event was going much better than she imagined.

Even Liam was smiling, who didn’t care about the people he worked with. Then she caught Lora and Liam talking at one point.

They were talking about how great the event was. Leaving their office for an event was not a bad idea after all.

But when she saw Lora’s eyes, Jen was sure that she was not over with her scheme. Short after, Liam walked towards Jen with angry eyes. He was holding some documents about his company.

Then he accused Jen with working against his company for his competitors.

As he left, Jen was shocked. Then Lora passed next to her, with a smirk on her face. Jen was a woman who believes that everything was happening for a reason.

On the next morning, she went to talk with Liam but Lora was in there too. As she entered into the office, Lora apologized and confessed what she did.

Lora said that she did all of the things for she was jealous. But after the team building event, when she went back home, she realised how horrible things she did.

Then Liam apologized too. He stated that she was no longer an intern, and that they needed someone like her in the company. From that day on, Jen had held the company together, as she was their pillar.
