Sarah and Jess always had a turbulent relationship. The cousins didn’t like each other very much, and Sarah was always jealous of Jess. She was an attention-seeker, and the whole family gave her the attention she needed to keep her under control. After four years of dating, Jess got engaged to her boyfriend Michael. The whole family was happy for her, which created a problem for Sarah. Sarah organized a girls’ night after Jess’s engagement. She then offered to sew her wedding dress. In truth, Sarah was an excellent seamstress, and it was a great idea. When Jess asked if she would really sew her a dress, Sarah said, “Of course, Jess! It will be perfect!” and hugged her.
Everything was going great until the final fitting. The dress was great and fit perfectly. But at the final fitting, everything changed. Something was wrong. The dress was incredibly small. Jess couldn’t fit into it anymore. “Jess! Are you crazy to gain weight before the wedding?” Sarah asked with a worried look on her face, but it was fake. «I haven’t gained weight, Sarah,» Jess said. She wasn’t even eating properly because of her stress. Then Jess realized that it was no accident and she hadn’t gained weight.
She realized that Sarah had done this out of jealousy because the attention she usually got had shifted to Jess because of the wedding. Then her fiancé suggested taking the dress to her mother’s friend, who was also a seamstress. She was sewing the dress for Michael’s mother for the wedding and would be happy to help Jess. Together they created a new dress from the old one that Sarah had sewn. At the wedding, when Sarah saw the dress Jess was wearing, she was shocked. She was furious with envy.
At the wedding reception, Sarah angrily approached Jess and asked, “Jess, what happened to the dress? Where is my original design? Why did you change it?” Jess smiled and explained that she had perfected the dress Sarah had made.
