Kim was turning 29, and she was married to Tom for the last five years. Her MIL Linda was a single woman for 20 years after she divorced from her husband, Tom’s father. She was acting as if Tom was going to leave Kim for his mother one day, and that was exhausting for Kim.

Kim’s birthday party was supposed to be a quiet gathering among friends and family. Kim had a plan to set a date with her co-worker Rob. Maybe Linda would fell for him and let her son go.

Rob was the father of their office, where he would act as if the other office workers were his children.

While Rob was looking handsome that evening, Linda was also looking beautiful.

As Linda flirted with Rob for hours, she then turned to everybody and announced that the time for cake arrived.

“Mom did the cake, and I’m so excited! I told her to do it succulent-themed!” Tom smiled, without knowing what his mother did.

There were 29 candles on the cake, and a writing which shocked Kim, “One Year Before You’re Expired.”

The whole house went silent. People were shocked. Linda was smiling, while Tom said nothing to his mother. He was just there, standing in shame.

“Linda, what the hell?” Kim asked.

Linda laughed as she told Kim that men would love younger women once their woman gets older.Kim would like her husband to stand up for her, but he was standing there in silent.

Then Rob walked towards Linda. He told her that he liked her at first, but now he stated that they were so different. Linda stopped smiling. Rob tilted his head and asked, “But if you think women have an expiration date at 30… well, maybe I should be aiming for one of those 20-year-old models instead, huh?”

He turned to Kim and hugged to his daughter-like co-worker and wished her a happy birthday before he left.Linda didn’t speak at all as she was left wordless. She was petrified.Then Tom approached to his wife, “I should have said something sooner,” he said. “I’m sorry. That was ridiculously out of line.”

Then Linda told her son to stop apologizing, as she said that it was a joke.

“No, Mom,” he said firmly. “It wasn’t. And you need to stop.”Linda was shocked once again. The biggest gift for her was her husband started to stand with her against her terrible mother-in-law.
