Initially hesitant to audition, she believed the producers were only considering her as a favor to her husband. “They had been searching for someone to play Daisy Duke for over a year,” Catherine recalled. “They scouted New York, Chicago, Atlanta, and California, but still hadn’t found the right fit. When I was approached, I didn’t think I stood a chance.”
Catherine initially planned to skip the audition, but a friend encouraged her to reconsider. “I was at this little Italian restaurant in Beverly Hills with my girlfriend, who had directed my one-act play. I told her about the audition and how I didn’t think it was worth going. She said, ‘It’s Warner Bros. You never know who you’ll meet on the way in or out. Just go!’ So, I decided to give it a shot.”
