A police officer from Virginia wowed the judges with a passionate serenade to his wife, and America’s Got Talent viewers nationwide can now relate.
I am here today because of my wife. After hearing her encourage him to pursue his passion, Richmond police officer Mervin Mayo made a bold statement before stepping onto the stage to sing the heartfelt song. “And I am music, yeah, I am music.”
Mayo sweetly glanced over at his wife, who was waiting in the wings, silently rooting for him, while he sang the passionate love ballad. Everyone was swept up in the couple’s love story, which was just the most recent chapter.“It was absolutely stunning,” remarked Judge Heidi Klum.

He and his wife bounded off the stage in celebration after he got the four yes votes Mayo needed to move on in the competition.
