When I discovered an email on Adam’s iPad about an apartment, my suspicions were piqued. Despite being married for six years and having two children, I learned that Adam had a secret apartment.
My friend Stacy and I decided to investigate. Posing as delivery workers, we went to the address and were shocked to find a young woman, and what seemed to be at least three other women and several small children inside. The woman who answered looked terrified and quickly shut the door.
Confused and hurt, I turned to Stacy, who suggested we confront Adam directly. We drove upstate where Adam was visiting his mother and brother. When confronted, Adam admitted to living a double life.
