On Kevin’s tenth birthday, the Forger family’s home was a vibrant hub of celebration. The house was adorned with colorful balloons and streamers, while the aroma of freshly baked cookies and savory appetizers wafted through the air. Peter’s pleas were ignored as Chelsea gathered the remaining guests and ended the party. As the guests left, murmuring words of sympathy, Chelsea held Kevin close, apologizing for the turmoil. “I’m sorry, honey. It seems not all wishes are meant to come true,” she said softly.
Kevin, though still upset, found comfort in his mother’s embrace. “The most important thing is that you’re here, Mom,” he whispered. Chelsea held him tightly, understanding that while the evening had unveiled painful truths, it also marked the beginning of a new chapter. With Kevin by her side, she felt ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
