The judges at America’s Got Talent couldn’t contain themselves after 20-year-old self-taught pianist Kieran Rhodes blew their minds during his audition. The prospective student from Berklee College of Music showcased his piano skills and his incredibly touching voice as he sang an original composition titled “Disengage” during his audition.
Despite his youth, Rhodes has shown to be an exceptionally accomplished songwriter; the heartfelt words of “Disengage” examine relationships and mental health. In addition, he had a remarkable knack for singing the lyrics in a way that deeply resonated with the audience, earning him a standing ovation for all his hard work. The performance by the upstate New Yorker garnered 7.8 million views on YouTube, making it one of the most popular performances on America’s Got Talent in the past few years.
