Sven and Lennart de Jong’s childhood revolved around South Holland, often playing games near the old water tower. The de Jong family’s joy knew no bounds when they succeeded in purchasing the tower situated in Nieuw-Lekkerland.

Erected in 1915, the well-maintained tower was acquired for a significant sum of 200,000 euros. This investment allowed the brothers to transform it into a magnificent five-story residence.

Their families, including Sven’s and Lennart’s supportive wives, embraced this unique endeavor. However, the journey to convert the tower into a livable space was long and arduous, spanning nearly a decade of renovation work.

By 2020, the brothers completed their ambitious project.

Their toil paid off as the de Jong residence became a contender for a prestigious Dutch architecture award.

Internally, the tower seamlessly merges industrial design with a touch of rustic comfort.

The space exudes a cozy ambiance through Scandinavian minimalism, illuminated by expansive panoramic windows. The brothers evenly divided the floors—two for each family and one for communal use.

Their achievement extends beyond merely living in a spacious dream home; it’s a source of immense pride. Recognized as one of the Netherlands’ most beautiful houses, Sven and Lennart de Jong’s residence stands as a testament to their dedication and vision.
