Caleb and Denise hosted friends for dinner, but Caleb’s mood was sour. Denise excitedly shared about a recent trip, while Caleb looked troubled.

“I’m planning a surprise for you,” Denise said, her eyes sparkling.

Caleb, however, was preoccupied. “I lost my job, and bills are piling up,” he admitted. Sam and Kate offered support, but Caleb was unappreciative.

“Honey, we need to stay positive,” Denise encouraged, but Caleb snapped, “Stop pretending everything’s fine. Why have you been spending so much? What was that trip really about?”

The evening ended awkwardly, and after their friends left, Caleb confronted Denise about her weight, belittling her efforts and comparing her to Kate. Denise, hurt and angry, fled to their bedroom.

The next morning, Caleb woke alone and noticed Denise dressed elegantly, being picked up by a sleek Rolls-Royce. Confused, he searched their room and found letters revealing Denise had inherited $500,000 from a distant relative.

Caleb, realizing his mistake, bought flowers and chocolates to apologize. At Denise’s office, he saw James, the man from the Rolls-Royce, and accused him of being after Denise’s money. Denise, hurt, revealed the truth: the Rolls-Royce was rented, and James was a co-worker. Denise had staged the event to make Caleb appreciate their life together and had used the inheritance to cover his treatment after his reckless actions.

Caleb, devastated, was left with divorce papers from Denise. Years later, working at a café with visible scars, Caleb saw Denise happily with another man. The man opened the door of a Rolls-Royce for her. Caleb, working in a job far beneath his previous life, watched them leave, haunted by regret and the loss of his former life.
