Am I to Blame for Ruining My Friend’s Wedding after I Wore a ‘Gold’ Dress to It?

Hey everyone, I need to vent and maybe get some advice. Yesterday, my best friend Dan married Lauren, but the day turned into a nightmare.

Dan and I have been friends since high school, always platonic. Despite this, Lauren never warmed up to me. At their wedding, I picked a warm-toned dress to match the theme, but it caused unexpected drama.

During the reception, Lauren pulled me aside, furious. “I cannot believe you would wear gold to my wedding,” she hissed. Her anger drew stares, and I felt humiliated. Then, Lauren tripped, tearing her gown and crashing into a table of flowers and vases. The room fell silent as she fled, crying.v

Was I wrong, or is this about something deeper?
